You Gotta Make a Choice

Okay y’all, so you know the last journal entry was cut short because the Lord wanted to go another way with it. I’ll continue it below.

Instantly, I understand completely what God was revealing to me. I hate to continually bring my aunt up but God keeps sending me messages after I talk with her. She and I were speaking about how she feels like God always says no to what she asks for.

So when I read this verse – recap James 4:3, I thought about her and others that may have asked of God their desires but have not received yet.

Oh, God, this is so much, please help me get this out.

My pastor said God was a “yes” God . Of course, that’s true for the people that have surrendered to him and have chosen him. But what kind of God is he to the cold and lukewarm???? His word says you ask and don’t receive because you aren’t doing it from a place of order. You aren’t where you need to be with God to receive those things you’ve asked for.

Submitting and surrendering to God, walking in his ways, and keeping his statutes and commandments are great places to be in order to receive from God what you asked of him. That’s proper order. Simply a lot of us are out of order with God.

As previously mentioned, when God repeats things over and over in scripture, I pay close attention. As I read the references, I jumped around a bit. I hope you can follow. Most of these verses referenced one another.
James 4:3 > Job 27:9 > Psalm 18:41 > Psalm 66:18 > Job 35:12 > Proverbs 1:28 > Proverbs 28:9 > Isaiah 1:15 > Micah 3:4 > John 9:31

James 4:3 – ye ask, and receive not because you ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Job 27:9 – Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him

Psalm 18:41 – They cried, but there was none to save them: even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

Psalm 66:18 – If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me

Job 35:12 – There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men

Proverbs 1:28 – Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall not find me

Proverbs 28:9 – He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination

Isaiah 1:15 – And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hid mine yes from you. Yea, when ya make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood

Micah 3:4 – Then shall they cry unto the Lord, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.

John 9:31 – Now we know that God heareth not sinners but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

From these scriptures, God not only revealed to me how he says no but also why he says no to some people. We think we can live our lives and only check in with God when we need something. This goes back to a previously written post, what will it cost you?, where I speak about how your relationship with God is going to cost you something. You have to be as invested in Him as He is in us. It’s all a matter of intent.

See, we won’t be perfect in our walk with God, but we should be intentional. And no one can read your effort and intent like God can.

Some of us say we are trying to get back to God but then put more effort in everything else but Him. We spend our time doing everything else but spending time with Him. We aren’t reading our word. We aren’t praising Him. We aren’t worshipping Him. We aren’t denying ourselves for Him. We aren’t trying to live the holiest us for Him. We are barely believing and trusting Him. Too busy doubting Him and complaining about what He hasn’t done or doesn’t do.

I mean let’s seriously look at your prayers and reflect on how much you’ve invested in God for your prayers to fall on listening ears. His word says that those that turn away from him and the things He asks for, your prayers are an abomination. Your prayers are something He hates.

Let me be clear, God does not hate you. Okay. He hates that we sin and don’t seek Him. I don’t want you to be discouraged by that, I want you to be encouraged knowing that as you get in order with God, He will begin to hear you again.

Turn away from the world and surrender yourselves and He will hear you. You will find Him. He will not hide his eyes from your stretched out hand anymore. God will see you. He heareth not sinners but any man be a worshipper of God, He will H E A R YOU.

Like mentioned in the last post, I read this and couldn’t shake it. I went to bed with it on my mind and woke up with it. God put this on my heart for someone.

You’ve been reading about me so far in my blogs, you’ve seen me transition from being out of God’s order to getting back in order with Him. My entire season right now is order and alignment. I’m getting back in a place that honors God and everything I do has to honor him or I can’t be a part of it.

My walk and transition has definitely allowed my prayers to fall on God’s listening ears. I want the same for you.

Tonight, I read my daughter her storybook Bible. We read Stories Jesus Told and at the end it says “Jesus did not teach like their teachers of the law. He taught like a person who had authority. All who heard had a choice to make.”

And I’m like wow because see no one is going to force you to get right with God. Getting in order with God is a choice. YOU have to choose.

If this message is for you, you felt it in your heart, you feel convicted, let’s pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come to you as humbly as we know how. We come to you as Solomon did and ask you to help us get back in order with you. We ask that you give us the strength to surrender and submit to you. Give us the strength to walk in your ways and to keep your statutes and commandments. Lord we ask that you place it in our heart to desire you. We ask for your strength to turn away from the world. God, we ask that you forgive us for being out of order, for denying you and your will. We ask that you forgive us for being cold or lukewarm. God we want to be on fire for you. We want your fire to burn inside of us. We want the block to be removed between our communications. Lord clean me up so that my prayers can be heard again. Lord, I lie here at your feet surrendering to you today. May your will reign supreme in my life and may I be obedient to it. God, I’m not perfect, but from this day forward, I choose you. Please give me the strength to choose you every day for the rest of my life. Amen!

I Absolutely Love You God

First of all God I absolutely love spending time with you. Like for me there’s no place I’d rather be. I’m okay with no one understanding me on that  for better words I don’t have any desire to hang out with friends. I know they say I need a break, and I do, but my break is solitude and Bible and prayer time. That’s my social time and if you have never felt that way, well, welp oh well, that’s how I feel and I really don’t want to hear anyone’s opinion about it. God I love you and all of your ways and I love spending my time with you. Like I need you. I need to choose you. Not like I need you because you could end my life at any moment but I need you as in my heart desires you. A lot of times I want to shut down from the world because I want my time with you. That’s why it will be important for my husband to understand that. Maybe on Friday night, he could sit beside me while I’m journaling and journal too or listen to a sermon or read the Bible. My God, My God. I’ll be married and

Co-parenting Prayer

I enrolled my daughter in a second gymnastics class so that her dad could participate. The class is on Mondays. Well, the Sunday prior he did not come to see her until 8pm. I wasn’t feeling that at all. So the Monday after, he found out that I got my minivan and was upset. Why would I get a new car because I can’t afford it…I’m already questioning where my money is going now…I’m like excuse me wait hold on a second, my car is not your concern and your money goes to taking care of our daughter. I mentioned how the little money he gives me is not enough to truly cover our daughter and how I put out more for her and I have my own bills. He said that had nothing to do with him and I said neither does my car. I hate confrontation especially with him. But I’m done with being bullied. He came inside to pick up our daughter and wanted to continue his argument. Asked me who I thought I was talking to…in my home lol. Because I refused to continue the dramatics, he was especially upset. As a r

The Next Step

God, I learned a few things today. They’re all jumbled up inside so I ask that you please help me get them out. Wow, where do I begin? I watched the video with Pastor D where a few things stuck out. One of the things was being in God’s order and marriage. I begin to feel like “where do I go from here?”. I’ve left my old life and got myself in order, but what’s next? I want to grow deeper with you but was unsure of what comes after this. Not that I’m trying to rush you but I felt more like I was becoming complacent and letting you down. Like I was missing something or wasn’t doing something for you. Also, I’ve been desiring marriage but I don’t want to focus on it in fear that I’d be idolizing it. But this video sermon talked about order and marital relationships. And I realize that next step in order for me is marriage. But God I have a lot to deal with in regards to marriage in which the video also revealed. His message was able to reveal to me that I have some wounds that need
